- I deleted this program from my computer when I realized its icon was a cat smashed by a car. In the website FAQ, the developer insists he likes cats, but "this is a joke." I'm sure anyone who has ever watched their beloved pet convulse to death after being struck by a car will disagree.
Use something else. There are other file converters that don't trivialize animal suffering.

- Honest, it's a great program. But if I could wish a change, it would be a more versatile way to put text on an image. I'd suggest a text object that can be manipulated (font, colour, placement, orientation) independent of the main image, then merged onto the main image when done.
IrfanView has been a mainstay on my computer for years. Quick, easy, able to handle everything. Look a little deeper and it makes slideshows, merges files. Thanks, Irfan.

- I've been using IrfanView for over a year for quick image viewing and minor editing. It's fast, small, very intuitive, flexible, and it seems to open anything I throw at it. One of the most professional pieces of free software I've ever used.
- Cons:
- Sometimes you just have to play with it a bit. I keep discovering new things I didn't know it could do.
Stable, useful, and quick, IrfanView should have a shortcut on your desktop. Rarely a day goes by that I don't use it.
